A New Beginning
This week has been both busy and exciting! First off, welcome to the blog section of my site—YAY! After lots of planning, I’m thrilled to finally launch this space, where I’ll be sharing regular updates about everything happening in and around my studio.
Here Is The Plan…
To keep things organized, I’ve created categories for different topics. Over the next few weeks, I’ll begin filling these sections with content. You can expect to see updates on what I’m currently working on, including progress updates, sneak peeks, and more.
In addition, I’ll be diving into my creative workflow. I’ll share tips on the software and tools I use to bring my ideas to life. I’m also excited to introduce the “Carnage Organ,” an instrument I developed over the last few years. I’ll share the full story behind it soon!
Beyond what’s happening around my studio, I’ll also be sharing whatever else I find interesting in my world of music and scoring films. So hopefully this blog will have some nerdy goodies to offer!
Big News: Joining Different Direction Management
Now, for the biggest news of the week: On Monday, October 7th, 2024, I officially joined Different Direction Management! This boutique-style agency represents an amazing roster of Hollywood composers, and I couldn’t be more excited to be part of it.
I recently met Peter Hackman, the agency’s owner, at a signing event for the extended Fear Street soundtrack release. We chatted about our favorite film scores and quickly realized that we share a nerdy passion for many of the same classic film scores and composers. He also loves the score to The Neverending Story which has a very special place in my heart. It felt like everything coming full circle, especially because one of Peter’s clients, Christopher Young, was my professor at USC! Small World!
Christopher, best known for scoring films like Hellraiser and Spiderman 3, has always been a huge inspiration to me. So, joining the same agency that represents him feels both surreal and incredibly rewarding.
Looking ahead, I’m excited to start this new chapter with Different Direction Management. I can’t wait to see where this journey takes me, and I’ll be sure to keep you updated as things unfold. Thanks for following along, and I’m looking forward to sharing more cool stuff with you soon!
